Romance in the House | Bitesize Drama Thoughts

When I started this drama, I had thought this would be a fun little drama with some tension surrounding the crime subplot. Somehow it did live up to my expectations, yet it wasn’t a very enjoyable watch.

As the drama progressed I found that there were lots of events and mini-crises that arose, yet none of these made the drama any more interesting. The ambition of the writers wanting to create a touching family drama, a murder mystery, a healing romance, and some wacky workplace hijinks was their downfall. The more obstacles that appeared and were nearly wrapped up almost immediately, the more boring the drama became.

Kdramas tend to be predictable by nature but the writers of Romance in the House followed the blueprints for so many tropes that it was laughable. If they remembered to give the conflict some impact on the characters it might have had a better effect, but that is not the drama we got.
