In this drama Kim Hyesu is a PD of a long-running investigative journalism show called Trigger. In the UK it would be something like BBC’s Panorama (don’t ask me about equivalent examples for anywhere else in the world).
The programme itself gets into a scandal. The boss of the network uses this opportunity to set up a wager where Trigger will be cancelled forever if Kim Hyesu loses. The stakes are set, but Kim Hyesu isn’t going to blindly go after winning this wager when she still has a responsibility to expose crimes and injustices affecting every day people.
