I will firstly offer the caveat that Check Out My Manager was quite a frustrating read. It was so good though! Waiting for season 2 already feels like an insurmountable task.
The premise is this is that high-maintenance divo actor Ji Hyeon and his manager Kwak Eunho are invited onto a variety show called Check Out My Manager (COMM). This turns out to be the catalyst for the issues bubbling under the surface of their million year friendship to boil over.
Eunho is gay and in love with Ji Hyeon. Ji Hyeon has been an actor his whole life and the only friend he has ever made is some guy who didn’t recognise him at school (Eunho). Eunho is the only one who Ji Hyeon can really tolerate and Eunho is the only one who knows exactly how to handle Ji Hyeon. It is symbiotic, in a way, until COMM brings all sorts of attention to Eunho.
The Check Out My Manager manhwa follows the fallout of this and how the two navigate a potential life without one another. The frustrating element for me as a reader is being able to see something so obvious that the characters are a long way off realising.
I highly recommend this manhwa but I howe are treated to season 2 soon!
